At Avantia, we had a simple idea - to become a family office for our clients, thus elevating their experience and giving them increased confidence in achieving their priorities. To do this we knew we would need to cultivate world-class people, employ the best technology, leverage our relationships with the strongest asset managers and lenders, and most importantly listen intently to our clients. We knew we could provide unparalleled service and a suite of solutions that are both compelling and priced competitively for the ultra-high net worth client market segment. Our focus is on business owners, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives, enabling their peace of mind through purposeful planning and thoughtful investing.
Our origin story began on May 4th, 2020, during a global pandemic not seen in over 100 years. As our clients sought safety in both their assets and their health, we started using technology from the very beginning. We conducted a deep search for a custodial platform that allowed us broad access to well-known money managers, robust cybersecurity, and a client-first culture. We then integrated an institutional quality financial planning tool, along with cutting-edge portfolio accounting systems to provide our clients with elegant and deeply customizable reporting. Within six months, we grew our assets, people, and processes, with an average client size ranking in the top 10% of RIAs in the United States. Our first annual client survey achieved a 96% satisfaction rating across all areas of our firm.
We have come a long way since 2020. Our team has been recognized in the Puget Sound Business Journal, The Seattle Times, and Bellevue Lifestyle Magazine. However, our strongest source of growth has been from client referrals. In 2021, we had several clients make more than one referral. In 2023, 40% of our clients made at least one referral in the previous twelve months. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing our growth through a deep focus on our clients.
