Yu Duan

Yu Duan joined Avantia in October 2024 as an executive director leading the firm’s Family Office Services where she assists select families better integrate accounting solutions and strategy into their financial structure. With 17 years of experience as a licensed CPA in Washington, Yu has consistently provided top-tier accounting and tax services for prominent public accounting firms and large industrial companies. Her expertise in tax strategy, client relations, and problem-solving, coupled with her adaptability to diverse business environments, makes her a trusted advisor for high-net-worth individuals and families working in concert with their tax advisors.

Yu earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Beihang University and a master’s in accounting from The Ohio State University. She began her career in Seattle, working with renowned multinational organizations such as PwC, Expedia, and F5 Networks. Most recently, she served as VP of Operations at a Chinese start-up, adding a valuable global perspective to her professional portfolio.

Outside of work, Yu is passionate about maintaining a balanced lifestyle. She enjoys inner peace doing yoga or barre and cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes alongside her husband and their two daughters.
